DAVID
WELFARE

As a vocalist and acoustic artist, I released my first EP in 2006. As well as BBC Introducing, I received airplay and downloads from all over the UK, Europe, the US and Japan. After receiving a European songwriting award, my music was featured in a US documentary film. I have released three solo acoustic albums online since 2011. I fronted an alternative/ambient band for a short time in 2013/14, releasing 2 EP's and gaining airplay on BBC Introducing for the second time.
Among other project over the years, I currently also release electronic and experimental music under the names, FLUX and A Ghost Inside.

I've been making music all my life. I got my first keyboard when I was 6, my first guitar when I was 10 and soon after that, a drum machine. I started making music from a young age but it wasn't until the '90s that I started creating demos of instrumental music and writing and recording songs with a 4-track cassette recorder. I remember experimenting back in the nineties, putting keyboards through effects pedals and an echo chamber. After that acoustic music was my main focus for a while and I eventually got into a studio in the early 2000s

I relocated from the UK in 2015 and now make music in my home in the South East of Ireland
